QUARC 2025

These release notes describe the new features and changes introduced in QUARC 2025. They are divided into the sections enumerated below.

New Software Compatibility

QUARC 2025 has introduced compatibility with the following third-party software.

MATLAB R2025a

Compatibility with MATLAB, Simulink, and Simulink Coder R2025a has been added.

New Features

The new features introduced in QUARC 2025 are mentioned below.

File Write

The File Write block is now capable of writing MP4 files on Linux targets. On Jetson targets with hardware support, the H.264 encoding is hardware-accelerated.

Miscellaneous

The following shows the miscellaneous changes in QUARC 2025.

Python API

Devices

A new Keyboard sub-class is added to the Devices, which has methods to retrieve the state of individual keys.

Deprecated Features

Deprecated

Some of the previous QUARC features have been deprecated in QUARC 2025, as mentioned below. Many of the deprecated features may continue to work, but are no longer supported and should be avoided.

MATLAB Versions No Longer Supported

MATLAB R2023a

MATLAB R2023a is no longer supported.

MATLAB R2023b

MATLAB R2023b is no longer supported.

Bug Fixes

Some of the bug fixes in QUARC 2025 are enumerated below. This list is not complete. Only some of the highlights are listed below.

Quanser Stream MATLAB API

Fixed a bug in the quanser.communications.stream.connect, and quanser.communications.stream.accept functions where the would_block value is not returned correctly with non-blocking I/O.

Fixed a bug in the quanser.communications.stream.poll function where the flags was used instead of the result return value for error message.
